  • HENRY "YG" MILES

    SOJOURNER

YG has been running full speed since becoming a Sojourner: quickly learning how to roast, encouraging his peers, setting up and breaking down our pay-what-you-can pull-ups, asking thoughtful questions about life and faith. YG has modeled for us what it looks like to be a self-starter, and how to stay faithful in the face of challenge after challenge. Meet Y.G.!

    1. In your first month with Deep Time, what is the greatest lesson you’ve learned?

How to make coffee. I didn’t know how to roast, but I like the process. Learning this process has helped me to see how I can move through life one step at a time.

    2. Which Deep Time coffee is your favorite?

    Ethiopia and Majestic

    3. What do you hope to accomplish during the rest of your time as a Sojourner?

Getting my car was important, and I just got mine! I want to keep exploring tattooing, landscaping, farming, masonry, cooking, and writing. I also want to get my own place.

    4. Where do you see hope right now?

When I come to work I see hope, it is a getaway from the trouble of life - work and ministry at Deep Time gives me peace of mind. I enjoy coming to work and it gives me hope.

  • MERCY RODRIGUEZ

    TEAM LEAD

Mercy a Navy veteran originally from Firebaugh California. She says that she “has a good work ethic instilled in me by my Hispanic heritage.” She has lived in Asheville only a short while, but has quickly fell in love with the vibe of the city. She says “I am committed to the Deep Time mission. I have strong family values and strive to be a better version of myself with the help of the Deep Time team. After all we are not only co workers we are a family that builds each other up. I have spent many years in misdirection. I plan to impact those who are still struggling and to be an example of what my higher power is doing in my life and through the Deep Time mission. To show others there is a different path. I love making people smile and have a positive outlook. I want to be a light to those around me and make an impact in the community. My spirituality grows stronger every day and am ecstatic to be a part of the ever growing community of Deep Time.”
